- tributes to iconic filmmakers and artistic movements
- educational masterclasses, talks, and discussions
- cultural side events including music, theater, and visual arts
Vision & Theoretical Approach
At the core of AIDFF lies the meeting point of art and technology. The idea of “New Cinema” goes beyond thematic or aesthetic renewal; it represents a holistic redefinition of the medium through the tools of the digital age.
The festival explores how cinema reinvents itself in a world of constant transformation. Here, “digital” is not merely a technical term but an aesthetic and philosophical challenge.
AIDFF provides a space for idea exchange, for the promotion of independent creators, and for celebrating cinematic diversity worldwide. It is both a laboratory and a stage, where theory and practice coexist.
A Festival with History and Future
With over twelve years of continuous presence, AIDFF has welcomed hundreds of filmmakers from across the globe, creating an international network of artists and film theorists.
The festival does more than showcase films – it highlights ideas, new cinematic languages, and sensitivities. With respect for cinema’s past and its vision set firmly on the future, AIDFF continues to carve its own unique path.
Cinema as a Living Organism
Cinema is not merely moving images, but a living organism that evolves through time. In the digital era, art meets technology in an endless dialogue; every new tool opens pathways to new narratives, new languages, new sensitivities.
AIDFF perceives cinema not only as a medium of expression, but as a space of reflection and renewal. Through the vision of independent creators, “New Cinema” seeks its own future—where the image becomes idea, and the idea transforms into art.
The festival is both a laboratory and a celebration. A meeting point where thought, technology, and imagination shape the cinematic landscape of tomorrow.
